No. The adventure contains twelve story days, but you may begin whenever it works for your family. Complete one each day, use it during the Twelve Days of Christmas, or choose your own schedule.

Most days take approximately 15–30 minutes, depending on the puzzle, the children’s ages, and how much time your family spends discussing the clues.. It is meant to fit into an evening, not take it over.

Absolutely. Children can solve puzzles together, take turns reading, discuss suspects, and share detective duties. Some adventures also include simpler activities for younger helpers.

Before each session, hide the day’s riddle or place it in the chosen starting spot. Keep the answer guide private, help when needed, and make sure children stop reading when instructed so they do not see the solution too soon.

Having 24 riddles gives more choices for what hiding places work best for the home so that 12 can be chosen that work best.

The mystery's solution stays the same, so the whodunit only lands once. But many families re-read the story, swap in the other 12 riddles, or pass the kit on to friends and cousins.
